  1. I don't see the resemblance at all. This blog is not bad for ad tracking. Good job

  2. Both ads are extremely innovative and deliver a very strong message. But once you take into account the available resources of both organizations, Beirut Duty Free ad is the clear winner up against the giant GE.
Makes you proud of those "crazy" Lebanese...

  3. Beirut Duty Free: Flash Mob
GE: An Ad with some dancing

I always check your blog, and love every post but this time i m bit disappointed!
The Beirut Duty Free Ad is full of energy, and mostly gave people one last memory of their experience in Lebanon which i think is great objective the Beirut Duty Free achieved with this flash mob!

  5. guys, this thing is N1 in france, tunisia australia iand in the top 5 in 10 other countries.the buzz is huge. Whilst the idea of a flash mob isn't a new thing, a Dabke / Hip-Hop flash mob in Beirut Rafic Hariri International Airport (Beirut Duty Free departure after the security check) at a time when the region is in flux is certainly a first.

what was created is this vibrant event as part of the travelers journey to "Take Back More." campaign. The aim was to literally create a wonderful memory of Lebanon that passengers could take with them on their journey.

it's a publicity to lebanon, it's nice spirit and to the duty free.
Just for you to know the videos came from the US and australia back to beirut!!!

  7. the person who doesn't like this ad is either:
    a jealous creative
a media guy who's scared that media will disappear one day
finally can be someone who doesn't have the Lebanese passport...

  9. I love the apologetic line in the beginning "whilst the idea of a flash mob isn't something new" It's like they're giving an excuse for their theft.

This is plagiarism. Shut up already.
Or at least don't credit your agency (whichever it is) for an idea that was done before.

  10. Georgina, you seem to be a bit pissed of. Why? you should be happy for your country (if you're lebanese) and for the feeling it gave to the lebanese people around the globe...chill...read the comments. It helps.

  11. My dear georgina, criticizing for the sake of criticizing. So many lebanese are very good in that. jealousy? Frustration? You probably didn't get the chance to create something that impactful yourself..

This is not the first Flashmob ever done, T mobile or Ge were not the first either.. Hundreds of flash mobs occur each year, some of them you've seen because there were successful, and some of then you didn't because they were a flop. You happen to see that one, among more than 600000 people, because it's a good one, a smart one...

A flash mob is way of expression, a new way of expression, that often has a purpose, a meaning. In that case, it's good one, a positive one for a change, and the lebanese people need it, and are loving it!

This video is simply beautiful, spot on, emotional, and it truly talks to people, real people..

    Great work guys!

  12. I agree with above posts, common.. i could name 10000 flash-mobs happening everywhere in the world, and in airpors!

the cool thing about this one is how it was adapted to local, which made everyone furious to join the huge dance; which once again shows how us Lebanese just are party people looking to enjoy it!!

This is also having great deal of positive repercussion all over the world - finally Lebanon is in the entertainment stories and not in the bombing part; don't u agree?

  13. Many things have been done before but sometimes one stands out from all the others, as in this case. Beirut Airport stands for so much in good times and bad, so what better setting to tap into so many emotions? This video will be the hit of the summer, already surpassing 250,000 views. Well done!

(Btw, as a side note, the GE ad appeals to the American public in much the same way, the working man, a catchy country song and dancing. All been done before as well, but it sticks!)
