New Year’s Resolutions
Our well intended resolutions are in place just waiting for the reality of the New Year. Will we quit smoking? Lose weight? Get those six-pack abs? Let’s forget about our own resolutions and make some for Lebanon’s politicians since they are having some trouble making them alone.
Lebanon’s Top 10 Resolutions for 2012- 1) 24/24 Electricity without generators. 2) Preserve Lebanon’s water resources. 3) Repair roads. 4) Revamp public transportation. 5) Prioritize waste management. 6) Protect workers, both foreign and domestic. 7) Provide all Lebanese with a quality education. 8) Pay the bills, don’t let Lebanon’s debt ruin our future. 9) Telecommunications: decrease cost and increase quality. 10) Paralyzing traffic costs Lebanese citizens time and money.
Maybe it would be easier to just go for the six-pack abs.

Color Your Christmas
Elvis said he’d have a Blue Christmas without you. Burl Ives said everyone wishes for Silver and Gold. Whatever color your Christmas might be, hopefully it’s Merry.

Gift Ideas
Just a few shopping days left ‘til Christmas….. Still thinking? Does she want something “snaily”? Something that Miss Italy would wear? Does she want a diamond the size of her head? But wait. You’ve worked hard this year and that Mercedes is nice too Gift shopping is exhausting. All I really want for Christmas is lunch. Every day is a gift and it is the thought that counts … but don’t forget that little box wrapped in pretty paper.

Do You Believe?
Maybe your parents stopped believing in Santa but sadly too many parents still believe in Lebanon’s politicians. Shhhhhh….don’t tell anyone but some very loyal followers of many politicians have stopped believing. Maybe it’s because the ones who were nice got a lump of coal and the naughty ones got the nice stuff.

Color Your Christmas
Was the Heineken ad in Dbayeh “inspired” by this other giant green bottle in Jounieh? There’s no online voting for Golden Star but in an informal survey, virtually all Lebanese homes have a bottle of olive oil in the kitchen. The beer of choice on Facebook appears to be Heineken but the overwhelming beer of choice in Lebanon is…… here’s a hint. It starts with an “A” and ends with an “A”.

The Language Of Love
It’s known that French is the language of love…. and it seems to also be the language of Christmas…. We wait for Papa Noël
Enjoy chocolat…. We stop at the boulangerie, charcutier and patisserie. Don’t forget the Bûche de Noël Oh Là Là! You could win a trip to Paris! Bonne Chance!
Bons Baisers du Liban!

Pet Project
As more people are becoming pet owners, it’s nice to know where you can take your pup. One place you can forget about taking your four-legged friend is to Sin El Fil Municipality Park and in case you forget, there’s a guy at the gate to remind you.
